While students are learning how to engineer solutions for the future, they also will be utilizing advanced technology to learn from live, interactive lectures with top-ranked faculty from UMass Amherst.

International students now have two graduate degree program options through UMass Amherst!

Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (MS ECE)The ECE MS 1+1 is a two-year program that begins in their home country and ends in the US. They will spend the first two semesters taking classes in a live environment, or via live courses delivered directly to their device, then travel to the US to complete their second year on campus in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Master’s Start: Engineering at UMass Amherst Master’s Start: Engineering provides graduate students a competitive edge toward transferring to a master’s degree program at accepting universities.   

This program is best suited for graduate students pursuing a degree in: 

  • Computer Science

  • Computer Engineering 

  • Electrical and Computer Engineering  

Recognized credits for Master's Start The following are examples of colleges and universities that have evaluated credits for transfer:
